That’s worrying. These 2JZ-GE engines were interference engines, which means that the timing belt snapping can severely damage the head, valve covers, and pistons. I did some quick research and the repair can cost from $400-1600 from DIY or dealer work. Would you do $800? I know it’s a bit further from your $1300 asking price but it requires some pretty big repairs, plus the hood and light and if I were to get matching rims. I’m an automotive student and this would be a good project at the right price, hoping we can work something out. Please let me know.
